	12th Annual Global CEO Survey CEOs around the world are retrenching, indeed many claim to be entering ‘survival mode.’ Our 12th Annual Global CEO survey shows how the financial crisis shattered short-term confidence. The percentage of CEOs who were ‘very confident’ about their one-year revenue growth prospects dropped to 21%, the lowest level in six years. 	Paying taxes - The global picture The World Bank’s Doing Business Project and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP are delighted to share with you the results of a survey which has been conducted as part of the World Bank Doing Business report to look at and compare tax regimes around the world. The results focus on the need for governments to ensure the effectiveness of the tax systems they implement, and for companies to appreciate the benefits of making tax reporting more transparent.

Esto es evidente cuando comparamos dónde estábamos hace cinco años con dónde estamos ahora y nos preguntamos dónde podríamos estar. Consideramos que esta comparación es necesaria porque el avance logrado podría confundirnos si no tomamos en cuenta el progreso que era posible.

	Highlights de Bolivia In the first half of 2008, the combination of the economic crisis and the increase of the price food generated an inflationary threat. In addition, the economic and financial expansion has caused macroeconomic problems as regards to the inflationary pressure, which increased from 2007 up to 2008 and the appreciation of the real exchange rate that affects competiveness for the exports.However, the main shortcoming that the economy reflects now in this period consists on the stuck of private investment, which limits the growth of the economy in the mid/long term as well as the generation of employments.
