Women in the community
A sense of community
Our women at PwC share a common purpose of looking to support and make a difference to the women in the community in which we live and work. We seek to raise funds for charities that assist and empower women through holding fund raising events and also through volunteering.
An example of this is the partnership we have developed with WOMYN at Bermuda College, their women's group for students. WOMYN seeks to provide a positive space focused on empowerment, knowledge and respect created for young women by young women. Together, the women's groups at PwC and Bermuda College developed the "As a WOMYN" series. Open to all Bermuda College female students, the workshops provide an informal forum held once a month addressing topics such as, striving for success, interviewing tips, and seizing opportunities that life has to offer. The first session entitled ‘STRENGTH lays within endurance’ was held in December 2011 and was a great success. As students were preparing for finals, it provided a great opportunity for them to discuss how to reduce and manage student stress and anxiety and recent graduates working at PwC shared practical techniques on overcoming stress and maintaining a positive outlook.
In addition, we are seeking to build a community for professional and executive women in Bermuda. Through connecting with other women’s groups our goal is to bring women together to network and build relationships, whilst raising funds for women's charities. Details of the various fund raisers we have hosted can be found on the Events page.
