What we do: Assurance

PwC’s Assurance team offers a wealth of superb opportunities for Bermudian students to acquire an accounting designation and forge rewarding business careers. The audit professionals who work within Assurance provide advice on accounting issues, SEC reporting, merger and acquisition; due diligence and a range of other matters to our clients.Working within specialist teams, dealing with international insurers and reinsurers, global investment funds or thriving local companies, you’ll gain a firm grounding in all aspects of accounting and auditing, giving you the perfect base from which to launch your career.

More than a numbers game

While you train, you’ll gain a broad-ranging insight into how businesses on the island operate, by the nature of the work you carry out. You’ll get to see how what they do translates into the financial environment – from recording transactions to planning for the future. You’ll need more than simply numeric ability – just as important as comfort with figures and an eye for detail are interviewing, listening and communication skills. Frequently working on-site at clients, you’ll act an ambassador for PwC. Along with the responsibility of representing the firm at some of the finance sector’s most prestigious companies comes the opportunity to work alongside – and learn from – talented, successful fellow professionals.

The variety you’ll enjoy and the skills you develop in project management, time management, analysis and report-writing – to name but a few – will give you the experience and tools you’ll need as your career progresses within PwC.

Study, qualify, flourish

We’ll support you in your studies towards one of two designations – the US CPA (certified public accountant) or Canadian CA (chartered accountant), covering all your study and revision expenses, and providing full study leave. You’ll also enjoy superb in-house training on our Associate program.

Once you qualify (after 2-3 years), you’ll be able to formally review your experience and achievements with your own coach and mentor, with an eye to deciding your next career move within the firm.

Right now, you probably won’t have a concrete view of exactly where you want your professional services career to take you. No matter. One thing you can be certain of, however, is that by training in Assurance with PwC, you will earn yourself the opportunity to choose from the widest range of options we believe is available to young professionals in Bermuda.
