Spend the summer developing the professional and interpersonal skills you need to get your HeadStart. Join us as a summer intern and you’ll come into our office for two to four months, depending on your own university break. A summer internship is also a great way to get your foot on the career ladder at PwC, if you’re interested. Many of our Associates interned with us and decided to come back after graduating from university.
The summer intern program starts with two weeks of focused classroom training on a host of topics, such as understanding auditing principles and how to use PwC-specific software and online tools, as well as an introduction to business ethics. The training includes simulation of an audit and basic accounting training, especially useful for those who have not studied accounting at university.
While you’re working with us, you’ll be rotated through different teams, getting exposure to various industry sectors – principally commercial insurance, captive insurance, investment management and local clients (which might include companies in business services, retail and consumer sectors). You’ll gain a mixture of exposure to international and Bermudian business environments.
You’ll also have the opportunity to experience working on an audit, where you’ll be challenged to practice the skills you’ve acquired in real-life, hands-on situations. And all the while, you’ll be learning from some of the keenest commercial minds on the island – people who’ll demonstrate more than just business skills: who will show you how to focus your mind on your future and make the decisions you need to build a lasting career.
There’s also a strong emphasis on experiencing the practical aspect of our corporate social responsibility agenda. You’ll spend some time working with a local charitable organisation, which could include helping with online projects, or conducting inventory counts and other ad hoc work. You’ll learn so much about yourself – and the joy of teamwork – during your charity assignment.
Certainly, we’d like you to join us as an Associate after graduation and potentially develop your career further – so you’ll get to see a broad range of companies and interact with different people at different levels. What will make a real difference is the exposure you’ll get to working alongside people at more senior levels – at PwC, our partners and senior managers take a major interest in the development of their junior colleagues.
The majority of our summer interns opt to become PwC Associates when they graduate – apply now to find out why.
