![]() By joining PwC as an Associate, you’ll benefit from working for the most distinctive professional services firm in Bermuda – and that means the broadest selection of clients and service offerings. We’ll assist you as you continue your career development by offering our resources, support and advice. Our Associates program also offers you the opportunity for professional advancement at PwC, if you are so motivated. A professional designationAs a university graduate, you may already have spent time on our Co-op Program or as a Summer Intern – in fact, 75% of our associates have practical knowledge of working for PwC. Within our Assurance practice, you can study to achieve one of two designations – the US CPA (certified public accountant) or Canadian CA (chartered accountant). These designations are an extremely important part of your career. Once you have achieved your CPA or CA, many exciting opportunities will come your way, including the chance to progress upward to manager, senior manager and even partner here at PwC. We are committed to the continual development of our people and we’ll assist you in reaching your designation anyway we can, including covering your study and revision expenses (some restrictions apply), and giving paid study leave. You’ll also benefit from our superb in-house training – where you’ll be trained in PwC methodology with a strong focus on auditing guidelines, client-interviewing skills, professional standards, relationship management and technology. Our specific development framework sets out our expectations of you – and how we’ll help you meet those – at each stage of your career. Starting as an Associate 1, you’ll progress through Associate 3 until you become a Senior Associate, which typically takes a total of 2-3 years, perhaps more quickly if you are able to demonstrate the capabilities at your level. You’ll enjoy a carefully structured program, with limitless support from a variety of people. You’ll be assigned a coach/counselor whose job will be to ensure your career is tracking along appropriately, while your interaction with different line managers on client engagements will also prove beneficial. You’ll also have a mentor – someone who’s been through the associate program before and will be able to give you an objective view of how you’re doing. The attention you’ll receive will give you so much more than just a professional designation – it will open your eyes to the many possibilities that motivated young Bermudians can take advantage of and you’ll gain the insight of many successful professionals, as well as superb academic back-up. On completion of the program, you’ll find your skill set has widened considerably – you’ll be more resourceful, more adept at research, and a better communicator. It’s the best HeadStart you can get in your career. Open up a world of opportunityYou may be given the opportunity to enjoy an international secondment, or to switch client teams. You may even move into an essential support function such as training, quality or risk management, or to another service line such as systems process assurance or advisory. To help you and your line manager make the decision that’s right for you, a carefully structured appraisal system is in place, so that you can evaluate your experience to date, along with what you’ve most enjoyed and where you’d like to see your PwC career take you in the long term. With a training program aligned with PwC’s global firm, we want you to take advantage of our world-class facilities and support, and concentrate on acquiring your professional designation as swiftly as possible. That way, you can enjoy all the opportunities that will open up to you afterwards, and potentially progress to manager or even make partner one day. |
