Vice President, Information Technology

Our client is a leading, publically traded investment holding company, whose mission is to be Bermuda’s trusted, preferred, provider of infrastructure solutions.

The Vice President, Information Technology functions with a high level of autonomy and is ultimately responsible for developing an Information Technology strategy, in line with Group strategy, to serve as a roadmap for IT delivery.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interfaces continuously with the Company’s Senior Leadership Team and business units, advising on the use of technology to enhance business activities
  • Determines the priorities and deliverables of Information Technology, assigning responsibilities and deploying resources to initiatives, monitoring progress to achieving goals and service levels against prescribed key performance indicators
  • Promotes a positive work environment and constructively engages with all key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manages and motivates all employee and technical resources, and takes the lead in staff development and retention
  • Leads continual process improvement within the Information Technology function to ensure that  processes perform consistently compared to industry best practices and frameworks such as ITIL
  • Oversees the implementation of business continuity planning and cyber-security risk policies
  • Consistently meets internal and external deadlines

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Information Technology or equivalent and circa 10 – 15 year’s work experience
  • In depth knowledge of Information Technology operations and latest developments; some utility/industry and Operations Technology experience would be a plus
  • Architectural knowledge - experience in all aspects of Information Technology including: data centres, virtualization, networking, security, data management DR/BCP, ERP systems (e.g. SAP), internet/intranet development, business intelligence technology and cloud-based solutions
  • Prior experience of successful implementation of projects in these areas
  • Demonstrable leadership and management (change management in particular) skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and customer engagement skills
  • Highly self motivated and goal oriented work ethic
  • Excellent employee management, motivation and development skills
  • Proven abilities in project management
  • Strong financial management, contract administration and vendor managing skills
  • Excellent process management and re-engineering knowledge such as ITIL
