Financial Controller - Bermuda

The role

Due to ongoing business growth, the group are looking to hire a Financial Controller. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Financial Controller will lead financial and regulatory reporting and oversight for the jurisdiction of Bermuda and its operating entities, working closely with the local Directors, the local Operations Director, the Group Finance Director and the Chief Financial Officer and wider Group function, to ensure efficient financial management.

The post holder will manage the local Finance function and provide sufficiently robust and timely reporting and analysis to support business planning and budgeting activities. The Financial Controller will support the Operations Director to ensure there is adequate financial risk identification to the board and provide support for any early intervention and corrective action.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

This is an exciting, commercially focused role that will play an integral role in supporting the Group’s continued growth.  Core technical and professional requirements include the following:

  • Internationally recognized professional accounting designation (CA or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 7 years post qualification experience in financial or professional services.
  • Current or very recent experience with IFRS reporting
  • Proven experience with a multicurrency general ledger environment and experience with time and billing systems.
  • Prior recent experience in a fiduciary environment is preferable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and provide thought leadership to the relevant board.
  • Planning, organisational and project management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within the organisation.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of finance professionals to deliver effective, time bound reporting in a commercial environment.
