Bermuda (Re)insurance Club
The PricewaterhouseCoopers Bermuda (Re)insurance Club provides a unique forum for executives in the insurance industry to meet and discuss the key issues and trends that are driving and shaping the future of the industry, both from an insurance and financial services perspective. With presentations from different industry experts, these events are designed to encourage and facilitate a lively debate. The discussions range from overviews of general market issues to more technical presentations, and if additional information is required, follow-up meetings can be arranged.
For the fourth consecutive year, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Standard & Poor's joined together to present the Annual Bermuda (Re)insurance conference. The panels and topic of discussion this year were be centered around the challenges faced by companies in ever-evolving economic and regulatory environments. PricewaterhouseCoopers sponsored the International Bar Association's 20th Annual Conference held at the Fairmont Southampton, from May 10 - 13. This year's theme was the Globalisation of Investment Funds. Topics included the institutional investors perspective, structuring fund products for family offices, retailisation of alternative investment fund products, alternative approaches for private equity fund raising in the current market, current issues for hedge funds and exchange traded funds: the changing landscape.
Scott Watson-Brown attended the conference on behalf of the firm and PwC sponsored the breakfast session, as there were no exhibitions at the conference
The 2009 Bermuda Captive Conference was held at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel from June 21-24. The conference is attended by risk managers and service providers from Bermuda and abroad. It is a definitive forum designed to focus on issues of interest for Captive owners, prospective owners and market professionals. PricewaterhouseCoopers Bermuda is exhibited at the conference and had representation from Captive Insurance, Tax, and Actuarial groups. The firm was also Silver sponsors of the event.
The 2009 RIMS conference was held in Orlando, Florida from April 19-23. PricewaterhouseCoopers exhibited at the conference and were delighted to have the expertise on hand from colleagues located at PricewaterhouseCoopers Cayman Islands, St. Louis, New York, Chicago, California and other parts of the United States. The event, as in previous years, was well-attended and a great success.
The 2009 CICA conference took place in Indian Wells, California from March 8-10. The conference provided its attendees with an unparalled venue for both networking and to build upon their education. The conference is aimed at professionals involved in the captive and risk retention industry. PricewaterhouseCoopers exhibited at the event and Richard Patching spoke as part of the pre-conference panel session.
