IFRS for SMEs

This three-day course is a step-by-step guide through the technical issues involved in understanding and applying the requirements of the new standard, IFRS for Small and Medium-Sized Entities (SMEs).

The scope of this course is very wide, because the new standard is applicable to non-publicly accountable companies, which excludes listed companies, companies contemplating an IPO and fiduciary companies. This new standard brings non-listed companies into scope. Stand out of the crowd and be ready for this new challenge!

The course is not intended for those in the banking and insurance sectors, since these sectors have public accountability in their fiduciary capacity.

The main topics include, but are not limited to:

• the IFRS conceptual framework and the IASB’s standard setting process;
• scope of IFRS for SMEs, concepts and pervasive principles, differences between Belgian GAAP, IFRS for SMEs and full IFRS.
