In 2007, PricewaterhouseCoopers was commissioned by the IT Governance Institute to conduct this global survey, resulting in this IT Governance Global Status Report, which was conducted amongst 749 CIOs and CEOs worldwide, between July 2007 and October 2007. This survey focuses on specific topics such as IT risks and value delivery.

When looking at the key findings of the survey, we have identified key messages which are detailed further in this publication; most important findings being:

  • Communication between IT and users is improving, but slowly.
  • Good IT Governance practices are known and applied, but not universally.
  • Action is being taken or plans are underway to implement IT governance activities.
  • The COBiT awareness has exceeded 50 percent, and adoption and use remain around 30 percent.
  • More than half of the respondents apply or plan to apply Val IT principles, but are not familiar with the Val brand itself.
  • Etc.
