This tax news applies to Curaçao, St. Maarten and the BES Islands.
The conditions for a pension that is acceptable from a fiscal standpoint are largely the same on the islands of the former Netherlands Antilles. The most important difference between Curaçao and St. Maarten on the one hand, and the BES islands on the other, is the age of retirement. On the BES islands the retirement age is now 65, in Curaçao and St. Maarten it is still 60. However, the entitlement age for old age pension (AOV) has been raised to 65.
