Edsel Lopez, Territory Leader of PwC Dutch Caribbean as of 1 October 2012. He is also partner of Assurance and Advisory of PwCAruba. Edsel joined the firm in 1993.

Edsel has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Assurance and Audit Services. During his career at PwC he has been involved in different projects in all major sectors, governmental as well as private. Specific sector experience includes: Industrial Markets, Tourism, Hospitality, Banking, Insurance, Telecommunication, Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government and Semi-Government.

Edsel holds a bachelor degree in Information Technology and Economics from the University in Eindhoven, Netherlands. He also holds a Master degree in “bestuurlijke informatiekunde”, accountancy from the Tilburg University in the Netherlands.



 

Cees Rokx, Risk Management and Assurance Partner of PwC Dutch Caribbean. From 2008 till October 2012 Cees was Chairman and Territory Senior Partner of the Dutch Caribbean firm. He has been working for PwC for more than 25 years. In 1996 Rokx became an Assurance partner. After 12 years in the St. Maarten office he moved to Curaçao in 2003.

Cees joined the Assurance practice of Coopers & Lybrand in the Netherlands in 1985 as a junior accountant assistant, gaining hands-on experience of audit and assurance matters; He worked for the Canadian firm of Coopers & Lybrand from 1989 until 1991 and joined the Dutch Caribbean firm in 1991.


Cees holds a degree in Business Economics from Tilburg University, Netherlands and a post doctoral degree in accountancy of the “Koninklijk Nederlands Instituut van Registeraccountants (Nivra)”.



 

Gerald Stacie, Assurance partner for the Dutch Caribbean firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He joined the Dutch Caribbean firm – at that time Coopers & Lybrand – as a junior assistant in 1993. When he left the firm to gain experience elsewhere he was a Supervisor. Between 1995 and 1999 he worked for the Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles. He returned to the Dutch Caribbean firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999 and became Assurance partner in 2007.

Gerald has a very broad range of experience on a wide variety of clients. He is a member of the Netherlands Institute of Auditors (NIVRA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Gerald is a business economics graduate from the University of Groningen, Netherlands and holds a post-doctoral degree graduate in accountancy of the “Koninklijk Nederlands Instituut van Registeraccountants (Nivra)”. He has also completed the Internal-Audit exam of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).



 

Hans Ruiter is Tax partner and Business Conduct Leader of the Dutch Caribbean firm. He joined the Dutch Caribbean firm in 1997, after having worked for 7 years in the Netherlands.

Hans is one of the founders and former president of the Aruban Association of Tax Consultants. He has lectured fiscal law at the University of Aruba and publishes tax articles in fiscal magazines in The Netherlands and Aruba on a regular basis.

For many years Hans has been a leading corporate tax adviser for a wide range of clients in Aruba. Over the years he has gained a lot of hands-on experience in all sectors of industry. Hans has been involved in most of the major acquisitions in the hospitality industry in Aruba of the last 10 years and has specialized in hospitality tax matters.

Hans holds an academic degree in tax law from the University of Amsterdam.



 
Steve Vanenburg, Tax partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Dutch Caribbean.
He joined the firm in 1993 as Tax manager and became Tax partner in 1998.

Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Steve worked in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from 1987 – 1993.

Steve’s expertise is in the field of international and national fiscal structuring for corporations and individuals. Steve specializes in international and national fiscal structuring for corporations and individuals and is responsible for the tax practices on Curaçao, Aruba, St. Maarten and Bonaire. In addition, as a native of Surinam, Steve acts as the liaison for engagements in Surinam.
In addition to his practice responsibilities, Steve was Chairman of the Committee for improvement of the infrastructure of Curacao for e-commerce, Treasurer Netherlands Antilles Law Society, President of the Netherlands Antilles Society of TaxAdvisers and Vice President of the Curacao International Financial services Association (CIFA).

Steve was co-author of “The New Fiscal Framework for the Netherlands Antilles”, which was published in 2002. Steve received his degree in fiscal law from the University of Amsterdam in 1987.


 

Zuleika Lasten, Tax partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Dutch Caribbean. In 2000 Zuleika Lasten successfully obtained her fiscal law degree at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tilburg. Straight after graduating, she started working for PwC in the Netherlands. While working for the Dutch PwC firm, Zuleika obtained her Tax Business MBA at the Nyenrode Business University and followed the official training of the Dutch Bar Association of Tax Advisors . In 2003 Zuleika, who is born and raised in Curaçao, returned to her home island Curaçao and continued her career at PwC Dutch Caribbean.

Zuleika became Tax Partner on 1 July 2013 and is thus responsible for the tax practices on Curaçao, Aruba, St. Maarten and Bonaire. Zuleika is actively involved in developing new competitive products and promoting tax efficient solutions for private individuals and clients in a wide range of industries including industrial manufacturing, hospitality, engineering, construction, asset management and banking. She has extensive experience with asset protection, business successions, mergers & acquisitions, fiscal due diligence and tax efficient cross border restructuring.

As the Territory Diversity Leader Zuleika is also responsible for positioning PwC Dutch Caribbean as the most innovative and leading company for diversity and inclusion with regards to amongst other gender diversity, geographical diversity and cultural diversity by reinforcing a culture where all talents have an equal career opportunity to reach their potential.

Zuleika plays a major role in product and business development, fiscal publications and expanding our services in Curaçao, Bonaire and Latin America. She is also a board member of the Curaçao International Financial Services Association (CIFA).
