The automotive industry was and remains one of the core sectors of the Russian national economy. In recent years the industry demonstrated phenomenal growth exceeding all of the most optimistic forecasts. However, the global financial crisis has significantly changed the prospects for the sector's development.

On 23 April 2009 PricewaterhouseCoopers organized a seminar analysing key tax issues for the automotive sector and development of law enforcement practice. Participants had an opportunity to discuss with PricewaterhouseCoopers professionals such issues as:

  • Effects of the crisis on the Russian automotive market
  • Value-added tax: hot issues
  • Discounts, bonuses, marketing and advertising events: typical tax issues
  • Warranty repairs: hot issues
  • Tax issues: new developments in court practice
  • The seminar included an interactive session where participants voted on various issues.
