A review of pensions of all companies included in the Dutch AEX 25

The economic storm that broke in 2008 is likely to bring fundamental changes to the way employee pensions are delivered by Dutch companies.

This report has been written for companies with defined benefit pension liabilities of the 2008 accounts of the companies listed on the Dutch AEX 25 and provides some startling insights into the state of pension provision by Dutch companies. The major deterioration in pension funding levels has triggered increased charges to the income statement and shareholdersequity as well as an increase in cash payments that will be felt not only in 2009 but also beyond.
