Bank Supervision and Accounting, Russia (2003)
- Description:
The main focus was to enhance the confidence in the Russian banking sector and to increase its mediumterm stability through fostering the quality and the transparency of bank accounts distributed by banks to external users. The project aimed to improve the production and use of financial reporting data and contribute to its compliance with IAS reporting by commercial banks. The project comprised legislative, reporting, pilot banks and training components.

Support for the improvement and the enforcement of legislation and judicial decisions on bankruptcy, Romania (2004)
- Description:
The objective of the project was to improve the legal and institutional framework on bankruptcy in order to render the procedures more efficient. A software application and a Best Practice Manual were created, comprising relevant insolvency cases from Romania and EU countries and standardised forms to be used by all interested parties. The manual constitutes a useful and comprehensive tool for all the practitioners in bankruptcy. The project also organised specialised training for judges, lawyers, liquidators, accountants, clerks and elaborated a training network for professionals involved in bankruptcy procedures.

Legal approximation in the VAT field, Romania (2004)
- Description:
In 2004, PwC commenced a project to improve and develop the legal and administrative framework related to VAT with the view to complete the approximation of the Romanian VAT legislation with the “acquis communautaire” through continued training of the personnel and providing them and tax payers with adequate working tools.

Working in conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organisation based in Barbados, the project covers all 15 of the CARIFORUM territories and involves:

PROINVEST Programme Organisation of EU-ACP Sector Partnership Meetings (2004-2006)
