Analysis released by PricewaterhouseCoopers of the major banks’ half year results, reveals that the majors proved their resilience once again in the latest financial reporting season. Collectively underlying cash earnings increased 8% over the prior half, primarily due to strong business lending, solid returns in wealth management, sound credit quality and good cost containment.
