Junior Mine: Review of trends in the TSX-V mining industryPricewaterhouseCoopers presents our second edition of Review of trends in the TSX-V mining industry, which examines the top 100 mining companies on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V) based on market capitalization as of June 30, 2007 and compares the information with our 2006 report.

As you will read, 2007 has seen a record raising of capital by the sector of approximately $3 billion (up from $1.7 billion in 2006) and record spending on exploration, mine development and production. The mining sector continued to play a strong role on the TSX-V, accounting for 47% of all companies listed. While this is a 4% drop in the number of companies from a year ago, there was a 45% increase in market capitalization for the sector as a whole.
