Legal Manager (Office of the General Counsel)

In this position, you will report to the General Counsel (OGC) on all legal matters. You are expected to be independent and capable of advising and providing legal assistance to Senior Management. This includes drafting/vetting of contracts, terms of engagement, affidavits, advising on IR matters and conducting relevant legal research for the purpose of rendering your legal opinion. You will also be required to provide updates on all proposed or new laws and regulations which impact the Firm, Partners or Firm’s Business.

This role offers, among others, international exposure that includes working closely with GCs around Asia Pac region as well as globally on current issues that impact the Firm. You are also required to work in a fast paced environment with demanding and sophisticated internal clients. The candidate should also demonstrate good soft skills in all interactions, in particular, with personnel within the Firm.

 
   

Skills / Qualification / Knowledge Requirement

  • 3-6 years post qualification experience with working knowledge in general or corporate
  • Strong negotiating skills, communication skills and an ability to interact with varied types of personalities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management
  • Corporate legal experience can be from either law firm or in-house
  • At least Second Class Upper LLB (Hons) from a reputable university.
  • Good drafting skills, well-verse in English and Bahasa Malaysia
