Graduate Recruitment 2008: PricewaterhouseCoopers taking on the best in the market.

10 September, 2008 - PricewaterhouseCoopers has this year employed 49 graduate recruits in Kenya, through its Graduate Recruitment programme, from universities around the country including University of Nairobi, Strathmore, USIU,
Egerton, JKUAT, Kenyatta, Moi and Africa Nazarene. These are part of 320 new recruits employed across the firm's practices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Mauritius and Angola.

The Graduate recruitment program done every year seeks to recruit young promising talent in the market. The 2008 recruitment is the largest for PricewaterhouseCoopers and reflects the positive outlook the firm has in the region.

Strong confidence in the country’s economic outlook and the need for increased efficiency in the business processes have led to rapid growth in the firm’s advisory services. This has called for recruitment and training of high caliber individuals into the firm.

The planned change in structure in the PricewaterhouseCoopers network of firms globally, announced last month, will help boost the quality of services through improvement of human talent and technology while providing career growth opportunities to the PricewaterhouseCoopers’ staff.

According to Kuria Muchiru, the firm's Chief Operating Officer and Partner in charge of Human Capital, “PricewaterhouseCoopers has secured its position as the market leader with double digit revenue growth year on year. This growth is as a result of among other factors, careful selection of our people. Talented individuals are the most sought after resource in this sector.”

The recruitment drive that began eight months ago is a highly rigorous and competitive process with a series of aptitude tests and interviews. It was the first time that the whole process used the firm's e-recruitment web based platform. “We seek to recruit the best people to join our team of highly talented and skilled employees. We do not compromise on the quality of our people in the firm. Given our global presence and highly integrated network, we believe PricewaterhouseCoopers is one of the most attractive places to build a career. ’ Added Kuria.
