What educational background do I need?
It depends on the position you are applying for. We recruit people from different disciplines (with very different backgrounds) like accounting, business administration, information technology, taxation and regulation, etc.
Your skills and knowledge will be taken into consideration during the assessment process. Even though academic results and University degrees play an important role, they are not sufficient. Your personality is important to us.
In addition, we are looking for people who want to embrace an international working environment.
What does the graduate recruitment process entail and how long does it take?
The process is structured differently for various areas of the business, but as a general guide, the recruitment procedure entails filling in an application form, attending 2 or 3 interviews and sometimes a written test. The requirements to do an exercise will depend on the service line you are applying for. From start to finish, the procedure takes between 1 to 2 months.
What sort of training does PwC provide?
PwC runs specific in-house courses for all professional staff to help them meet the performance standards of their grade, as well as to prepare them to assume the responsibilities of the next grade. The courses will also enable them to keep their technical skills up-to-date. We strongly believe in training and developing our staff and we expect staff also to have the same commitment towards their development.
How would you describe the working relationships within the firm?
The firm has always upheld an open door policy and coaching culture, the aim is to strengthen bonds between senior and junior staff. The firm has a friendly open environment where people play as hard as they work.
How soon after joining will I be given responsibility?
Almost immediately. For the first couple of months, you will be assigned to an Audit team. Seniors will be with you on the field to advise and guide you. Once you have gained enough confidence to work independently, you will be given small audits to handle on your own.
If you join our tax department, your initial responsibility will be to assist in carrying out tax work. Again, apart from the training provided, your seniors and managers will guide you and monitor your progress regularly.
