Senior Associate or Manager - Insolvency

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A degree in Law, Finance and/or Accounting from a recognised university or recently called to the bar or a newly qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CMA, CGA).
    • 3 to 4 years relevant experience.
    • Certification in insolvency (CPI, JIEB) would be an asset.
    • Strong analytical mind and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Proven ability to deal with challenging and dynamic situations.
    • Driven self-starter with a proven ability to work independently.
    • Proactive, assertive attitude to delivering results for our clients.
    • Willingness to travel and support engagements throughout the Region.
    • Knowledge of Laws relating to receiverships/administration/insolvency would be an asset.
    • Experience in recovery, collections and managing ongoing concerns would also be an asset.

    Role and Responsibilities:
    • Preparation of projections for various scenarios of operation or closure.
    • Assessing risks and devising strategies.
    • Preparation of detailed reports for clients and stakeholders.
    • Dealing with creditors, tax authorities, employees and unions.
    • Monitoring and control of statutory and internal compliance procedures.
    • Analysing company history, checking facts and researching documents.
    • Managing litigation and external counsel.
    • Preparation of plans for realisation and execution/management of realisation process.
    • Manage, mentor and train more junior insolvency professionals.
    • Support the partners in identifying and exploring potential new business.

    The Senior Associate or Manager will report to the Partners and Senior Managers in the Advisory Service Department. A compensation package commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications will be offered to the successful candidate.
