A degree in Law, Finance and/or Accounting from a recognised university or recently called to the bar or a newly qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CMA, CGA).
3 to 4 years relevant experience.
Certification in insolvency (CPI, JIEB) would be an asset.
Strong analytical mind and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Proven ability to deal with challenging and dynamic situations.
Driven self-starter with a proven ability to work independently.
Proactive, assertive attitude to delivering results for our clients.
Willingness to travel and support engagements throughout the Region.
Knowledge of Laws relating to receiverships/administration/insolvency would be an asset.
Experience in recovery, collections and managing ongoing concerns would also be an asset.
Role and Responsibilities:
Preparation of projections for various scenarios of operation or closure.
Assessing risks and devising strategies.
Preparation of detailed reports for clients and stakeholders.
Dealing with creditors, tax authorities, employees and unions.
Monitoring and control of statutory and internal compliance procedures.
Analysing company history, checking facts and researching documents.
Managing litigation and external counsel.
Preparation of plans for realisation and execution/management of realisation process.
Manage, mentor and train more junior insolvency professionals.
Support the partners in identifying and exploring potential new business.
The Senior Associate or Manager will report to the Partners and Senior Managers in the Advisory Service Department. A compensation package commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications will be offered to the successful candidate.
