PwC supports the efforts of Andreas Cariolou, the well known Cypriot Olympic Athlete for sailing, member of the Cyprus Olympic team which will represent Cyprus at the Beijing Olympics in August. An athlete who everyday confirms that hard work and devotion are the foundations for success. Athletics, culture and environment comprise the three poles for the functioning of the Olympics. With the empowerment of the responsibility to leave this world a better place than we found it about 100 of our people and 40 of their children are volunteering for the following activities at the event that our CSR committee is organising to mark our support to Andreas Cariolou, just before he leaves for Beijing, on 11 July 2008 at 10.00 am at the Sailing Centre of Limassol which event comprise athletics, culture and environment.
The activities:
- cleaning of the beach area around the Sailing Centre, supported by about 100 volunteers
- a painting on issues related to the environment by our children or siblings. Our children or siblings ages 6 – 15 will accompany us at the event for the painting and simultaneously will have the pleasure to meet Andreas Cariolou who will talk to them about sailing
- a press conference to announce our support to our Olympic Athlete
- lunch
