PwCare

As a truly global organisation PricewaterhouseCoopers has great responsibility and long-term interest in the sustainability of the communities in which we operate. PwCare was officially launched on 9 June 2006, is a means for PwC organisation and individual to connect with local communities and help charitable organisations while at the same time providing opportunities for our people to develop themselves as a socially responsible leader.

PwCare is funded by individual donations from partners and staff of PwC Indonesia. Its activities focuses on improvement of education, health, poverty, assistance in natural disaster and leadership, self-managed or channelled through charity partners.

In addition to this, PwCare is active in many ad-hoc activities such as collecting donation in the form of required goods and providing assistance to the victims of earthquake, tsunami, flood and other natural disasters.

“We are committed to playing our part as active corporate citizens - sharing our skills, expertise and resources with our wider communities to have a positive impact on society”

Our Programme is divided into 4 main categories:

PwC People Giving
PwC People Giving allows our staff to donate through ongoing monthly payroll deductions, as well as direct cash donations. The firm matches staff contributions on a rupiah-for-rupiah basis. Donations collected are given to specific charity partners or directly to the communities in-need.

PwC in the community
PwC in the Community provides PwC staff with the opportunity to spend two work days each year participating in hands-on, team-based volunteering assistance to community organisations.

Provision of professional services
We share our knowledge and experience with the community in ways that can directly help community organisations build their business capacity.

Corporate community leadership
The corporate community leadership initiative focuses developing meaningful corporate partnership with community organisations. The initiatives include training programmes and scholarships.

Global Communities

Our commitment to our communities can be seen by the diverse range of initiatives across the PwC global network. PwC recognises collectively we can make a bigger difference and a greater impact by sharing our expertise and skills in a business relevant manner and also by simply getting engaged with our local communities. We share local knowledge to respond to local issues with a view to making along lasting and sustainable difference.

As we develop the next generation of leaders to take on the complex global challenges of tomorrow, it is our view that leadership encompasses more than business and commercial skills – it requires broader social and emotional awareness, we call this Responsible Leadership. A key element of Responsible Leadership is Global Communities – sharing and collaborating on the impact and difference we make in the communities in which we live and work.
