PwC Foundation

The PwC Foundation is PricewaterhouseCoopers' community involvement programme. Through the PwC Foundation opportunities are created for PwC people to make a lasting impact on the communities within which we work, by leveraging the enormous talent, enthusiasm and generosity of our people.

The Foundation’s activities are organised into three key areas - PwC in the Community, PwC Pro Bono and PwC Corporate/Community Leadership.

PwC in the Community: Hands-on community help
PwC in the Community promotes and facilitates volunteering and contribution opportunities for all our people. It is all about getting out there, getting our hands dirty and making a difference in a practical and tangible way. We work closely with a number of charity organisations by providing volunteer support and organising fundraising activities.

Some of the initiatives we have been involved in with our charity partners include:

  • Donating food to the City Mission in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch
  • Dyeing and shaving staff and partners’ heads and legs for The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation’s Shave For A Cure fund-raiser
  • Activity day and BBQ for the children at the Cholmendeley Children’s Home
  • Collecting suits for donation to the Dress for Success programme

PwC Pro Bono
PricewaterhouseCoopers has a long history of delivering professional services to not-for-profit organisations and charities. Pro bono work enables our people to utilise their skills to assist community organisations in need. Delivering our expertise to community organisations is one of the most satisfying and rewarding things we can do.

Some of the organisations we provide pro bono services to include:
  • World Vision
  • Diabetes Institute of NZ
  • Equal Employment Opportunities Trust
  • Karori Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Mental Health Foundation
  • Sir Peter Blake Trust.

Corporate and Community Leadership
This aims to provide opportunities for PwC people to develop corporate and community leadership skills so they can be more effective in their leadership journey, and also to provide leadership development opportunities for other members of the community. This strand includes our Foundation Aspire Scholarship Programme and sponsorship of the PwC Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artists programme at the New Zealand Opera.
