PwC recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

October 9, 2009 — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is proud once again to be named as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2010. This marks the sixth year in a row that PwC is recognized as a top employer.

At PwC, we are focused on engaging and motivating our people to give their best everyday and to help them develop to their full potential. We offer comprehensive development programs, competitive employee benefits packages and progressive national and global career programs. PwC also supports and encourages ongoing employee involvement with corporate social responsibility initiatives. Some of our people programs and initiatives include:

  • Coaching, development and learning: PwC focuses on coaching, career development and continuous learning to help all of our people reach their full potential. Each person at the firm is assigned a coach who provides advice for professional growth throughout his or her career. We also offer ongoing development opportunities through on-the-job and formal learning experiences.
  • Rewards and recognition: The firm’s CEO Award is a nomination-based program that recognizes employees who have distinguished themselves and delivered an outstanding experience for our people and clients. The 2009 winners in three categories (People, Client and Team) were recently honoured at a gala event, where individual winners walked away with $10,000 each, while the team winners shared in a $25,000 prize.
  • Community involvement: Team Volunteering, the most recognizable program of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation, engages our people in meaningful, day-long projects for worthwhile causes. In the fiscal year 2009, nearly 45% of PwC employees participated in this program.

“Despite the difficult economy, we remain committed to our people and give them a range of opportunities to succeed both personally and professionally. Achieving our goals of becoming a high-performing and distinctive firm will only be realized if we continue to put our people first,” says Chris Clark, CEO and Canadian Senior Partner of PwC Canada. “Being a top employer for six years is external recognition of our efforts to deliver a distinctive experience for our people and to make PwC an employer of choice.”

The tenth edition of Mediacorp Canada Inc.’s annual competition for “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” invited 16,000 employers to apply for the competition from a range of industries across the country. Participants are required to complete an extensive application process that includes a detailed review of operations, HR practices, charitable efforts and community involvement.
