Three awards given to distinctive individuals and client teams

September 22, 2009 — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Canada is proud to announce the recipients of the firm's inaugural 2009 CEO Award for the Atlantic region. The CEO Award is given out in three categories: People, Client and Team, recognizing two individuals and one team that stand out and have achieved outstanding results for PwC and its clients.

This year's Atlantic region CEO Award winners include:

  • David Webb, Winner — People Category: In addition to taking on responsibilities as a manager in PwC's Audit and Assurance Group, David focuses on enhancing the professional development of his staff, demonstrates a sincere interest in client business and relationships and encourages social and volunteering activities in the PwC St. John's office.
  • Kim Crowell, Winner — Client Category: A member of PwC's Human Capital group, Kim lives and breathes human resources, often travelling throughout the Atlantic region to support PwC staff needs-from welcoming and training new hires to championing work/life flexibility.
  • PwC Maritimes Office Internal Firm Services team, Winner — Team Category: Located across PwC's seven Atlantic region offices, the team of 16 helps facilitate various client engagements, such as typing client financial statements, and supports human resources and IT initiatives for PwC's 180 plus staff members in the Atlantic region.

Throughout the year, staff and partners in PwC's Charlottetown, Halifax, Moncton, Saint John, St. John's, Sydney and Truro offices are encouraged to submit nominations for the award in each of the three categories. This year's Atlantic region award recipients were selected from a list of nominees by a regional nomination committee and recognized during a local celebration event.

"The CEO Award recognizes and rewards our PwC individuals and teams who go that extra mile to create business impact and live our firm values of leadership, excellence and teamwork," says Ron Walsh, PwC's St. John's Office Managing Partner.

Mike Anaka, PwC Maritimes Managing Partner adds: "Particularly in this challenging economy, we believe it's important to take the time to recognize those who achieve great results, celebrate their successes and thank our staff for a job well done. We are proud to honour this exceptional group of PwC people who are truly role models for helping make PwC the distinctive professional services firm."

Recipients of the local office CEO Awards are also eligible to receive the National CEO Award, which honours two PwC Canada staff members and one team who go above and beyond to provide a distinctive experience to PwC's people and clients. In addition to being recognized in the Atlantic Region, David Webb was awarded as the 2009 National CEO Award recipient in the People Category. He was among the national winners that were announced in a special ceremony on September 14, 2009, and received a monetary prize of up to CDN$25,000.
