Awards given to three outstanding individuals and client team

September 15, 2009 — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Canada is proud to announce the recipients of the firm’s inaugural 2009 Montréal CEO Awards. The CEO Awards are given in three categories: People, Client and Team, recognizing two individuals and one team that stand out and have achieved outstanding results for PwC and its clients.

This year’s Montréal CEO Award winners are:

  • Maribeth Ford, Winner – People Category: Accommodating, empathetic and a skilled listener, Maribeth is known for devoting many hours to relationship development. She always starts off her day by making the rounds and reorganizing workloads as needed to enable all of her team members in PwC’s Integrated Service Solutions group to maintain their work/family balance and encourage professional development. For example, she recently authorized an employee to complete a program of studies with a view to obtaining a promotion.
  • Isabelle Corneau, Winner – Client Category: Known for her enthusiasm, dedication to her clients and artistic originality, Isabelle was nominated by a wide range of her co-workers from partners to support staff. Creative and talented, she puts a great deal of energy and time in all her projects as well as in all the interactions with her colleagues whom she thanks willingly and warmly for their help. She also designs original artistic graphics that never fail to impress a lot of clients. Isabelle also lends her support to the community and among her peers: for example, she volunteered with the Charles Bruneau Cancer Centre Foundation by editing a book of recipes submitted by PwC employees.
  • AbitibiBowater team, Winner – Team Category: The success of the client service team, which is based in Montréal, stems from its hard work and delivering value to the client. The multi-faceted team brought together professionals with a range of technical skills and experience, and focused on building strong relationships with each other through coaching and mentoring, as well as strong relationships with the client.

Throughout the year, staff and partners in PwC’s Montréal office are encouraged to submit nominations for the CEO Award in each of the three categories. This year’s Montréal award recipients were selected from a list of nominees by a regional nomination committee, to be recognized during a local celebration event.

“The CEO Award recognizes and rewards PwC individuals and teams who go that extra mile to create business impact and live our firm values of leadership, excellence and teamwork,” says Guy LeBlanc, Montréal Office managing partner. “In this challenging economy, we believe it’s particularly important to take the time to recognize those who achieve great results, celebrate their successes and thank them for a job well done. We are proud to honour this exceptional group of PwC people who are truly role models for helping make PwC the distinctive professional services firm.”

Recipients of the local office CEO Awards were also eligible to receive the National CEO Award, which honours two PwC Canada staff members and one team who go above and beyond to provide a distinctive experience to PwC’s people and clients. National winners have been announced at an inaugural CEO Award dinner held in Toronto on September 14, 2009 with the Canadian Leadership Group, and the Montréal AbitibiBowater Team has been one of the three winners for the 2009 National CEO Award!

Congratulations to all of our CEO Award winners!
